Until now robot lawn mowers have been limited to where they could go due to needing to install a perimeter wire, with the RTKn no wire robot mower you can set virtual paths to different areas without having to bury a wire across your tarmac or paving.
Some radio dog fences can interfere with or get interference from a wired robot lawn mowers wire signal, or if your neighbour installs a robot lawnmower or dog fence it could stop your wired robot mower from working. With the RTKn GPS robot mower you don’t need to worry about wire signal issues.
You can set as many zones as you need and programme the robot to go to certain zones at certain times. With wired robots the robot can sometimes escape an area getting into the next area, which often may be across a driveway, which is fine until your delivery driver comes speeding into your property and squashes your robot.
One of the problems with installing a perimeter wire is the wire will get damaged from time to time, or corrode at a joint, or the cable may just start to deteriorate over time. When making adjustment there is no need start digging up the wire to joint it and relay new wire, you can simply adjust the virtual map, we can even add no mow zones, which is perfect for temporary pools, bouncy castles etc.
Kress have developed their very own RTK network, which means they have a network of reference station antennas at multiple locations throughout the country which all mesh together to create complete coverage. Any other RTK robot would require a local antenna installed at or on your property and for the robot to get line of sight with the local antenna it often means the antenna needs to go on the peak of your house with a wire running to it.
